I was initially considering a line of ‘play by play’ tweets as I watched ‘Context is for Kings’, episode three of Star Trek: Discovery, but thought that perhaps a full on post would be better. Mostly since there were several moments where I had to think about reconciling what I saw with established canon. ***Spoilers ahead, as well as an incredible amount of Star Trek nerd talk.
I don’t have plans to go back and do the first two episodes. At least not yet, since I’ve already seen them. The following was done as I watched the episode.
We have them both now.
‘Star Trek: Discovery’ and ‘The Orville’ are now both released, and available for our collective consumption and review.
There have been several instances of ‘Review Bombing’ on Steam in recent memory. The most relevant example for this community will be during Paradox Interactive’s attempt at changing their product prices, where review scores dropped significantly as users expressed their dissatisfaction with Paradox’s new pricing for it’s products. More recent is the review bombing by users of Campo Santo’s game, Firewatch. This being due to a portion of users reacting to Campo Santo’s decision to file DMCA claims against PewDiePie’s content of their games, which was in reaction to a profane slur uttered during a stream.
Yep, been awhile right?
The website has functioned mostly as a space for the weekly webcomic, and it’s done well in that regard. Though the original idea of the website was to feature blog entries, as well as game reviews in order to bring more content to you folks. With recent changes to my schedule to be more consistent, mostly thanks to a steady streaming schedule now, I now have the ability to make the website’s content a much larger part of the content for you guys.
I don’t have a release schedule of any kind in mind for website content, outside the weekly webcomic. Reviews and blogs take time to write, and will likely be a “When it’s ready” situation. This is mostly to ensure the quality is there. But hey, who knows what will happen in the future. Stay tuned!
To commemorate this, I’ve added a review for Supreme Ruler Ultimate. You can click here to have a read.
There will be a slight change to the schedule. As many know, I usually take part in Ben Magnus’ Community Event on Saturdays. I won’t be able to attend these anymore, but that doesn’t mean I’ll stop streaming on Saturdays. Instead, I’ll be doing a solo stream later in the day starting at 6pm US Eastern. Should be a good opportunity to interact more with you guys, something I’ve been wanting to do more of.
As for what will be played, it’ll likely be a host of different games. I have several in mind, ranging from some oldies that I enjoyed when I was a kid, to newer stuff. As always, suggestions are welcome.
